Extra Care

All of our staff departments work together to ensure the best quality of care for our residents

24 Hour Nursing Care is provided by Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) under the management of the Director of Nurses (DON) at each facility. They ensure that each resident is getting the attention and care that is needed, whether that is off-site dialysis, infection or wound care, stroke, hospice services, cardiac and diabetic care, or any complex post-surgical needs. Transportation to and from their doctor's offices is provided.

Our nurses receive ongoing education on changes in state protocols and continuing education courses that surpass the state-mandated in-service expectations. Commonly presented topics include stages of dementia, how to safely position someone if they have fallen, toiletry training for incontinence, diabetic care, empowering residents, protecting against communicable diseases, integrative approaches to pain, ethical decision making, psychosocial care, and creating a culture of safety.

We Protect and Honor the Dignity, Health and interests of our Residents

Our homes have a “restraint-free policy” which protects residents’ dignity with physical and emotional freedom from the encumbrance of restraints.

Our staff work as a team across departments, with the registered dietician, licensed social worker, discharge planner, and resident's personal physicians. For instance, the registered dietician works with residents physicians' to ensure that each resident is obtaining their optimal nutrition and health. Further, we consult each resident's family, intimate friends, and essential caregivers. Our Licensed Social Workers meet regularly with residents. They are pro-resident, pursuing their client's comfort and endeavor to grant every wish.

Our residents are the reason that we are there and every measure is taken to make sure that the best possible care is given to each resident.
